Step 1:
In this first step of our guide on how to draw a forget-me-not, we won’t start with the flowers but with the stem to which they will be attached. The rod will be pretty thick and will be drawn using connecting curved lines. There will be a central part of the stem, which will branch into two smaller stems. You can also draw small, rounded buds on the stem to show where new flowers will soon grow. Once this stem is drawn, we’ll move on to the flowers in the next step of the guide.
Step 2:
Now that you have this stem don’t forget to draw. We can start removing some of the attached flowers. The forget-me-not flower has a central part made up of several round shapes, and then it is surrounded by large round but also somewhat square petals. Draw the small star shape in the center of the two flowers we are drawing now, then use curved lines to draw the rounded shapes around this central shape. Then per bud choice, include five petals, almost the norm. As mentioned, they will be drawn with curved lines with slightly flatter outer edges. Add some line details inside each petal, and then we’re ready for step three of the guide.
Step 3:
You’ve drawn two flowers in this guide on how to draw a forget-me-not, so removing the third one should be a little easier now! This third flower will go on the upper left side of the stem, and although it’s at a slightly different angle from the others, it will look essentially the same. This means that it will have the same internal shapes, and then it will be surrounded by five petals. That’s all, so let’s move on to other flowers in the next part.
Step 4:
There are only a few flowers left to add to your forget-me-not drawing before moving on to the final details in the next step of the guide. These will look like the others again; however, we will gradually make them smaller to show perspective. The first flower will be slightly smaller than the others, but the second flower will be relatively more minor. This second will also be drawn from a slightly different angle, as seen in our reference image. Then you’ll be ready for those final details as we move on to the next step!
Step 5:
You have drawn all the flowers we will include in this guide to drawing a forget-me-not so that you can finish with the final elements. As shown in the reference image, we will extend the stem from the flowers. This part of the stem will be thinner than the base and branch out in places. You can add a few extra little buds to the ends of these smaller branches, and then you’re ready to take the final step! Before proceeding, add your additional keys. This last step of your forget-me-not drawing will end with some color. In our reference image, we have opted for the classic colors of this beautiful flower. This means we use light yellows for the center of the flowers and then finish with soft blues for the petals.
