Agri-Smart : An innovative project through the Erasmus+ program

Bigboss Project (France), Mine Vaganti (Italy), Fundación Sieneva (Spain), AGRRA (Croatia), Cerca Trova (Bulgary) and SC Psihof Orworld (Rumania) have come together to develop a new Erasmus+ KA220 project that responds to the main current challenges related to global food security in accordance with SDG Nº2, Zero Hunger, and SDG Nº3, Good Health and Well-being.

Facts such as growing population, estimated by the United Nations to be over 9 billion people by 2050, food demand increase, approximately by a 70% in the short future, climate change or price rise are the main challenges for achieving food security in the upcoming years. Besides, our current farming model is not ready to respond to these problems and some changes must be done withing our agricultural production system.

Within this context AGRISMART project and our European Partnerships aim to:

– Promote agriculture entrepreneurship as a sustainable farming model

– Develop precision agriculture in Europe to answer the growing need of food and promote a new model of farming towards a more sustainable one

– Empower adults with digital and entrepreneurial skills in the Agro-food Industry to become actors of sustainable future.

In order to achieve those objectives, AGRISMART consortium have planned different kinds of activities already discussed during our first Transnational Project Meeting which took place in Strasbourg between the 14th and 16th February 2022, where our partner BIGBOSS called all partners together. Within AGRISMART three different intellectual products related to sustainable and precision agriculture will be delivered; 1. Precision Agriculture Handbook for adults containing the state of the art of the participating countries regarding precision agriculture, its barriers and drivers, as well as a collection of best practices and technologies used in the different contexts. 2.Training format for adult’s educators composed by specific methodologies and modules on competences and skills required to start a new business in the Agro-food sector, which will be tested in Spain during a training mobility programme and 3. Social Community, an online web platform for creating community and exchange practices between project’s participants and stakeholders.

Achieving inclusive and quality education for all reaffirms the belief that education is one of the most powerful and proven vehicles for sustainable development. For that reasons AGRISMART focus on adults’ education interested in the sustainable Agro-food industry, which is one of the most important sectors to reach SDGs and comply with the Agenda 2030.
